I was just nominated by Erin from De La Pura Vida to take part in “My 7 Links“, which is a project to highlight seven of one’s favourite blog posts.
Basically, it’s like going down memory lane but also sneakily a pyramid scheme for SEO. Brilliant!
A bit of an introduction: I started this blog completely as an afterthought. It was 5am in early Jan 2010 and I was waiting to board my plane at Toronto Airport, headed to the Caribbean to start my job on a cruise ship. I was bored and had run out of things do on Facebook. So I decided to start a blog. 1.5 years later, here we are.
1. My most beautiful post
The Audacity Of Happiness
I ramble on about how happiness is fairly easy to achieve. You just need to be audacious about finding happiness. Or get drunk often.
2. My most popular post

7 Habits Of Highly Effective Travel Blog Stalkers
I share my knowledge on how to stalk travel bloggers without getting yourself arrested.
3. My most controversial post

The War On Terror: A Colorful Traveler’s Perspective
I share my thoughts on Osama Bin Laden being killed.
4. My most helpful post

Life Lessons For The New Year
I don’t know if I can say that any of my posts are helpful per se, but if I had to choose the most helpful I’d say it’s this one. Basically, it’s a compilation of lessons I’ve learned and behaviours I strive to adopt. In a nutshell: be helpful, stop whining and don’t be a dick.
5. A post whose success surprised me

7 Habits Of Highly Effective Assholes
Anytime anyone calls me a nice guy, I want to punch them in the face to prove them wrong. I wrote this guide for people facing a similar predicament.
6. A post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved

The Science Of Non-Conformity: A (un)Manifesto
I was so excited when I wrote this (especially since I added a pretty graph). I was expecting literary agents to be hunting me down for a book deal or something. Who knows what happened, maybe my science was flawed.
7. The post that I am most proud of

The Art of CouchSurfing Awesomely Series
I wrote a 9-part series on the Art of CouchSurfing Awesomely. It took me ages and I’m very proud of it. You see, I’m kind of a big deal on Couchsurfing. So it was about time I shared my expert knowledge with the peasants.
And now to nominate 5 (of the many) awesome travel bloggers I follow:
Grace Pinay On The Move
Chris The Aussie Nomad
Sally Unbravegirl
Adam Travels Of Adam
Lindsay The Traveller World Guide
What do you think of My 7 Links?
First of all great job on 1.5 years of blogging. Thank you for nominating me into this pyramid scheme :) getting to work on this for this week.
