Crabs In St Thomas

We were in St Thomas today. This is possibly the last time I’ll ever be in St Thomas as I’ll be changing ships in a month. So I decided to do something a bit more fun than I normally do in St Thomas, ie. find free wifi or bitch about Hooters.

I took the cable car up to Paradise Point again. The view was gorgeous and I enjoyed a locally made root beer while people at the bar engaged in crab races. Each contestent had a crab and they lined them up in a row to race. It was funny but seemed a bit cruel as well. Especially when one crab just wanted to sleep but was forced to play. If he wants to nap, let him nap!

After that, we headed into town. I’ve never been this far out in St Thomas, so it was exciting. But the only restaurant in sight was McDonalds. I justified that it was better than Hooters and ended up having a Chicken Big Mac combo. Actually, it wasn’t too bad but I felt dirty. I had finally lost the last vestiges of my moral fiber.
After luch there was more walking. We walked all the way into town only to realize that town consisted of a few tourist shops, a hotel, a Kmart and a Radioshack. So it was then time to head back.
