The Christmas Cruise, Ho Ho Ho

300th blog post!

We were in Baltimore again today, for the last time this year. It’s the start of a massive 14-day X’mas & New Years cruise.

Baltimore was cold and sprinkling with snow. It was all very Christmasy-looking and perfect weather for The Beast. I got more than a few envious looks as I walked off the ship warm and cozy. We didn’t have much time but I thought I should get some treats, seeing that I would be working through the “holidays”.

So I headed to Walmart. I felt like I was in Santa’s very own workshop, assuming Santa now outsourced all manufacturing to sweatshops in China. But still, it got me into the festive mood.

I ended up getting some Christmas decorations and a santa hat (to match The Beast). So much for minimalism but as they say, when in Rome (or Walmart). I even bought myself a few Christmas presents: protein powder, nail clipper, toothpaste, loofah and body wash. Ok technically, I would have bought them regardless of the season but it’s more exciting when you think of everything as a gift. I was even tempted to wrap them up but knew that I couldn’t wait till Christmas to open them. Especially since I was out of toothpaste.

I guess I kind of broke my Minimalism Christmas rule and now I have more than 199 things. Ah well, tis’ the season. Anyway, I walked back to the ship with my Walmart bags, wearing my santa hat and The Beast. I felt like Santa Claus. I almost even ho ho ho-ed all the way home.
